Writing & Formatting Prompts

The editor is where you write, refine, and publish your prompts. Every entry has three parts:

  • Title — the name of your entry.
  • System message (optional) — instructions that tell the AI how to behave before the main prompt.
  • Prompts — one or more prompt cards where you write your actual content. Each card is numbered (Prompt #1, Prompt #2, etc.).

The right sidebar has tabs for Actions (save, publish, AI tools), Quality (evaluation scores), Versions (history and diffs), and Details (tags, folder, metadata, activity).

Build multi-step prompts

Click Add follow-up prompt to create a chain of prompts that run in sequence. Reorder steps with the up/down arrows, or remove any step you no longer need.

Multi-step chains are useful for complex workflows where each step builds on the previous one — for example, research first, then summarize, then format.

Format your content

Select text to see the formatting toolbar — bold, italic, headings (H1–H3), bullet and numbered lists, inline code, and code blocks are all available. Keyboard shortcuts work too. See Keyboard Shortcuts for the full list.

System messages

Click Add system message to add instructions that set the AI's role, tone, or constraints. The system message appears before your prompt content when sent to an AI model. You can remove it at any time if you don't need it.
